Courtesy Sporting and Pawn was founded in 1980 when A.M. Mitchell and Curtis Smith bought out what was then Michael Lees Trading located on Canal Street.
They moved the business to Lea Street next to Dmonios Pizza. After A.M. Michell, (my father) got bad in health I purchased his half interest in the business and was partners with Curtis for aproximately 3 years until I bought our Curtis' half and became sole owner of Courtesy Sporting and Pawn. Since then I have continued to grow the business, moving into what was called the "Old Silver Bell" building on South Canal. After renting for little over a year I bought my own building located at 307 South Canal Street just down from where it all originated at Micheal Lee's Trading. The business has continued to grow and I am looking at new ways every day to benifit our customers' wants and needs. Stop by and see our store and meet our friendly staff. Your visit will be one to remember. Shawn and Cassandra Mitchell |
